Nike SB - Mosquitoes

At first glance these shoes seem to be a little to "funky" but as you read on you might change your mind. The Mosquitoes were released on November of 2008. Inspired by...well..mosquitoes. The laces have bloody tips, along with the blood speckled mid sole, and the skin colored body. The green on this shoe reminds me of poison or insects in general. The material of this shoe reminds me of Slam citys and The jedis material.

The mosquitoes are very unique and has a certain feel to it. I have never been a big fan of funky colored shoes but this pair has captured me. The way the shoe is made reminds me of the old Nike SB shoes where the craftsmanship was top notch.





















My personal rating for The Mosquitoes

Color - 6.5 / Like I said before the colors on this shoe do not fancy me much.

Design - 8.5 / The design on this is very original and clever. IE, the blood splatter and the bloody tips of the laces.

Originality - 8.5 / I guess these are pretty original because there has not been a pair of SBs that was based around an insect. Correct me if im wrong.

Material - 9 / Very nice material. Like i mentioned before, it reminds me of slam citys and jedis.

Overall - 8.125 = A nice pair of SB's.

Nike SB - Pusheads

.....OMG just LOOK at the design of that box! The Pusheads were released by Nike SB in December of 2005. The shoe was inspired by the artwork of Pushead or Brian Schroeder who's artwork appeared on the records of several famous rock bands.

These shoes are definitely on my Top 5 shoes list. The box is beautiful, the shoe is beautiful, and the art of Schroeder is also beautiful!

When these shoes were first released the retail price was unbelievably cheap...$65. Compared to today these shoes go for over $300! Oh boy I would've made a FORTUNE!

What I mostly like about these shoes is the color and designs that are on it. It puts me into a trance everytime i look at it. The shoe is just a great shoe overall.










My personal rating for the Pusheads

Color - 9.5 / Definitely one of the sickest colorways in all of SHOE HISTORY! The red contrasts perfectly with the black.

Design - 9.5 / Beautiful design. Lots of swirls and trance-inducing blotches.

Originality - 8 / Not too original because a lot of SB's have been inspired by artists.

Material - 9 / The leather on this shoe is very nice. The rest of the shoe feels very genuine and sturdy.

Overall - 9 = A must GET!

If you feel like buying these shoes i suggest you get them either of Ebay or Issforums, anywhere else you'll be paying a fortune.

Nike SB Venom Hi's or Punishers?

Nike SB released these bad boys in November of 2008. They were part of the Superhero/Villain pack that included the Spiderman and batman mids. Many people were dubbing these as "Storm trooper" dunks but in reality they are actually based around the comic book villain of Spiderman, the infamous Venom. From the black body to the white design of Venom's character. The colorway makes these dunks simple yet clean.

A few people have also argued that these dunks resemble "The Punisher" more than they do Venom.

There are two reasons why this could be true.

1. The Punisher's colorway is the same as the dunk's.

2. The white laces that come with the shoes have "kevlar" written on the tips. Kevlar is a type of bottom armor that the punisher wears.




Even though the Kevlar part sounds very convincing, I for one still like the reference to Venom more because I believe Venom is more badass. The way I would like to wear these is by switching the white laces to red ones.
I think this makes the dunks more "Venom-like" because of the red laces that resemble Venom's long red tongue.

PS. This picture does not belong to me. I still have yet to find where i can get these kind of red SB laces. If anyone knows where i can get them please do share.






My personal rating of this pair of SBs

Color - 9 / Simple colorways are always a plus for me.

Design - 6 / Little to no unique designs on this shoe.

Originality - 8 / Although its not clear who these shoes represent I personally don't really care if it represents Venom or The Punisher, because they both are cool.

Material - 9 / The leather on this shoe is very nice, and along with the smooth suede, this shoe is extremely comfortable to wear.

Overall - 8.5 = A very nice pair of Dunks.
